Market Timings — Open & Close Time Table

Every matka market declares at its own fixed times and runs on its own set of days. The table below lists the open time, the close time and the running days for each market in the archive, with a direct link to its jodi and panel charts. All times are Indian Standard Time.

What the open and close times actually mean

A market’s open time is when it declares its opening three-digit panna, which reduces to the open ank. Its close time, usually a few hours later, is when it declares the closing panna and close ank. Only once both have been declared does the day have a complete two-digit jodi. The arithmetic that links the two is set out in the matka guide.

Between the two declarations a market is mid-day rather than finished. A result card showing a figure on one side and a placeholder on the other is a market that has opened but not yet closed — not a missing record.

Running days

  • Mon – Fri — the market is closed on Saturday and Sunday, so those cells stay permanently empty in its charts.
  • Mon – Sat — closed on Sunday only.
  • All 7 days — the market declares every day of the week.

This matters when reading a chart: an empty Sunday column on a Monday-to-Saturday market is the schedule working normally, not a gap in the archive.

Timings are a schedule, not a promise

These markets are unofficial and unregulated. A listed time is the time a market normally declares. Announcements run late, and days get skipped — over a holiday, for instance. Where a figure is never announced, the chart cell shows ** and stays that way. Nothing on this site is filled in by estimate.

Timings on this page are read live from the site rather than typed into the text, so a schedule change shows up here as soon as it is recorded. If you spot a time that no longer matches reality, please tell us the market.

Common questions

Which time zone are these timings in?

Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30). Every time shown on this site uses IST.

The market has passed its close time and there is still no result. Why?

A listed time is when a market normally declares, not a guarantee. Announcements slip, and a market can skip a day entirely. Where a figure is never announced, the chart cell stays marked ** rather than being filled in.

Do these timings ever change?

Yes. Markets adjust their schedules occasionally, and holidays can suspend a day altogether. The table on this page reads live from the site, so it reflects the current schedule rather than a fixed copy.
